We all know Jimmy Nevis as the notorious cape-flats born SAMA nominated performer, but this time Jimmy has set foot in the fashion industry with the opening of his very own flagship popup store, YorkYard in Canal Walk, Cape Town. He hosted an awesome launch event to celebrate this achievement and I got a front row seat at this occasion. Enjoy my scoop on the festivities below 🙂

Good to Know

The world of fashion is constantly an eventful playing field, especially in Cape Town and being fashionforward will keep one trending while out and about in town, said one of the speakers at the opening launch. What was encouraging to hear from Jimmy at the exclusive opening of the store was that he was supporting the Cape fashion industry in ensuring that the items were being produced right here too.

The style ranges from Sport Luxe to Modern chic and he has incorporated some of his favourite bloggers and friends to showcase and support the brand namely, Nadia Jaftha (fashion blogger), FashionistaCT (fashion entrepreneur), TracyLee Rosslind (stylist), Kimlyn Sisam(MUA) and BlaketheChamp( Dance champion) and Janice Now(artist), who also launched her very own EP album at the opening launch at Canal Walk.

What to Expect

With price ranges below R800 across the store, the items range from typical winterhoodies, basketballslacks, longerlength tshirts and dresses with fancy waistbelts one can surely find a suitable item for the fluctuating weather conditions of the Cape.

The following keywords paint a picture of the overall experience at the YorkYard store

Versatile I Comfortable I Affordable I Trendy

The first pop up store will run until MidJuly in Canal Walk after which another opening is planned for beginning to mid September at the V&A Waterfront and eventually the store will run as  an online outlet. Be sure pop over and get your #YorkYard on while stocks last.
